The Dieppe museum has been housed in the castle since 1923. The castle was first constructed in the 14th century. The collection is an extensive illustration of the wealth created from the town’s maritime history and its port. Discover a unique collection of ivories, impressionist paintings, prints by Georges Braque and souvenirs of Camille Saint-Saens. Free booklet in english available at the front desk!

The building is great and the goats outside are an added bonus. Inside the friendly receptionist spoke English (although we didn't need that, but it's helpful). The displays are very varied and the view superb.

After a good lunch we decided to go for a long walk to the Chateau not knowing what to expect. The views were worth the walk alone. We have seen enough museums to be a bit jaded but thought we would try it. The range...More

We enjoyed the views from the castle and there are some fine pictures (Renoir, Pissaro) in the museum.

Not clear what the exhibition is about, just a non appealing entrance and a price. We like museums, but no clue what the subject was. Surrounding castle was magnificent.More

There is a very good collection of paintings, sculptures, carvings, models and other artefacts tracing the history of Dieppe. It is all housed in some interesting buildings with spectacular views. I dont know how they do it for the money.

Just back from a fabulous day in Dieppe. This has most frequently been, for me, just a town where I caught the ferry. How wrong I was. This town, although suffering incredible damage in WW2, has been rebuilt. Much remains of its historical past, the...More
