Gustaf's moving exhibitions introduce Finland’s history as told through the voices of local people. Hear Lyyli the Sorter in the paper mill sing, and see if you too could have what it takes to run a factory. Gustaf feels that museums should be more than a few dusty mammoths in a glass cabinet.

My first visit to the museum. I am not a friend of modern art. This time I really enjoyed. Our guides were really professional and made me enjoy the exhibition.

The museum is absolutely worth to visit. Only boring thing was that it had the same exhibitions than more than one year ago. Go first to this museum and continue to the next Serlachius museum which is some kilometers away from here. You will get a lot of knowledge of history and art when you do it.

After prilliant expierence at Gösta museum (about 5 - 6 kilometers from city centre of Mänttä) I was time to see all the exhibitions in this Gustaf museums. This time there was a chance to see a exhibition about the history of Mänttä + pulp mill, ancient Mänttä and many more things. This place seeams to be full of interactive... More

There are two museums in the small town of Mänttä, one named after the 'Paperiperkele' (Paper Devil) Gustaf Serlachius, the other after his nephew and successor Gösta Serlachius. Why of all places in Mänttä, in the middle of nowhere? It all started with some rapids, which were the source of energy of a paper mill by the pioneer of Finland's... More

Mänttä grew around a paper mill like many other Finnish towns and this museum is the former main office building of the 'one man company', G.A.S. named after the founder Gustaf Adolf Serlachius and later run by his nephew Gösta and his son and his son until a big merger in 1986. The exhibitions were a bit boring or 'too... More

Nice building and exhibition. Worth visiting if you're interested in history of Serlachius, "Paperiperkele" exhibition tells interactively about G. A. Serlachius, including miniatyre models of Mänttä and factory areas at different times in history. There're also other changing exhibitions and a small cafeteria. Worth visiting if you're in Mänttä and visit art museum.

Everything combined, this is an annual visit for us. The new gallery with changing exhibitions is suberb but including the old house with local legends and the surroundings it's a necessary summer refreshment!

If you are looking for culture and fine arts, then Serlachius Museum is an excellent place to visit. There is a new section added to the museum which houses more recent works. If you buy the Mantta ticket, then you can visit three of four of the museums located in the different parts of the city conveniently transported by a... More

The museums in town are great and should not be missed! We actually drove up from the south of Finland specifically to visit the museums and they did not disappoint! For a very affordable price (£8/adult) we spent many hours being enticed by the delightful and well-organized museum exhibitions. We learned a lot about the area's history and there's something... We started our tour from peperiperkele. I received the headphones with English guidance. Perhaps the relation between the patrons was depicted realistically but the pathetic dramatization became almost ridiculous because of lousy English pronunciation. (English with Finnish pronunciation). A total flop!
