A must do if you are in the area. An imposing building which has an atmosphere all of its own. It feels quite compact but has plenty of points of interest, not least it's stained glass.

Visited for lunch, which we often do. A lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, great food at a really great price. You can even have a glass of wine or two! Then, if you are lucky, you can walk through the cathedral and you may hear a choir rehearsal, especially on a Saturday. The cathedral is beautiful with many interesting items and... More

Really worth taking the time to visit this beautiful late Victorian masterpiece in the gothic style. The huge expanse of stained glass is particularly fine and the soaring granite gothic arches are so elegant. It incorporates an older church very cleverly.

Our whole visit took about 15 minutes, and we saw the whole cathedral. Grand it is not, but it's got a great ceiling and is a wonderfully maintained building. The cathedral is still used... More

Personally I am always pleasantly surprised by the great shop they have there. Not just selling religious things, but all manner of gifts you wouldn't find elsewhere.

Not the oldest in the land, but those soaring neo-gothic/'early English' curves and the stained glass windows are special. And the volunteer ladies at the entrance could not have been more helpful and informative.
