The Boardwalk area in Esperanza has a laid back, non-resort feel to it. Give it a few minutes and it will grow on you! We came in on a bareboat charter where we paid for our one and only mooring ball in all of the...More

If you are staying in the north side of the island you must check the area of Esperanza and walk the Malecon. It is small but entertaining with good places to eat, water activities and free music and dancing at night.

Best place to chill, have a bottle of beer and watch the bay especially during sunset. Lined with restaurants and bars, this boardwalk is just a few hundred yards long, best place for a slow stroll and chilling out after a day at the beach.

Fun place to hang out, beautiful water views, lots of nice restaurants. If you're looking for nice sunscreen, the boutique on the left at the end of the malecón has some nice options!

Nice views over the bay, interesting varieties of trees/plantings. Some beach, clear water and tidepools but kind of rocky. Good variety of restaurants here, something for everyone. It's touristy but so low key, keeps a local feel. Some little shopping stalls with jewelry, etc, and...More

The Malecon is a place we visited many times during our month in Vieques, and it was so wonderful for people watching, sunset views, and activity! Loved it!

This strip borders the water on one side and the other side is commercial. It's not long, so take time to visit the shops, perhaps the small museum. At Bili's get a mojito, as well as something to eat. Weekends, have a lot of activity,...More

Great place to hang out, find all of the vendors for jet ski's, kayaks, tours, buy and drink fresh coconuts, pick up some souvenirs... The restaurants didn't have a local feel though - burgers, steaks, that kind of thing... not the "comida criolla" types...

Yes, there are no rentals at the beaches, but there is place in Esperanza, FUN BROTHERS rentals, that does have some equipment, but would try to contact them before you go to see if they have what you need and if you can... More
