About
We are going to take you on a journey... a journey featuring British Companies and the people behind them which were at the forefront of a transport revolution. The heroes of our journey are the cars: NOT a random selection of old vehicles but a carefully chosen selection of cars made in Britain which changed the world for good.

Good fun

Good value for money. Nice to see a comprehensive collection of cars through the ages, and of course lots of personal memories of owning various cars.

A really well presented collection of fine old British cars
Nov 2021
The owner has gone to enormous effort to make this huge shed into a warm and well laid out car museum. Most significant post war British cars are represented and well presented along with informative recorded stories on the individually provided tablets. Knowledgeable volunteers help to keep the exhibits looking good and there is a cafe and shop. If I lived near I would happily volunteer!

Good

Good overall.
Some lovely models inc Jensen, Schimitar.
Would have have given it 5, £15 is overpriced and there s big gaps in cars missing,
Vauxhall Viva, No 3 wheel Reliants, Ford Corsair, Ford Cortina mk 2, Zephyr Zodiac,
Rover PB 5, Short of a Bentley and few more from 50s, no Ford Anglia.

A pleasant surprise!
Nov 2021 • Couples
Wasn’t particularly keen when this was suggested but was pleasantly surprised. Very well thought out with a large range of beautifully restored British cars. QR codes very helpful. COVID aware venue with lots of ‘hand sanitisers’ dotted around, headsets (which are included in the entrance fee) are sanitised after each visitor. All the staff very friendly and helpful and there is a small cafe where snacks are available.

It would be interesting to maybe have the bonnet up on some of the more powerful cars?

Many thanks.

Fantastic day
Nov 2021 • Couples
Loved the whole day, had bought a drive and then went to see the cars. Amazing! Some stunningly beautiful cars, some amazing oldies, some cars you really didn't love at the time, from an Austin 7 to a Delorean and a Maclaren. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly recommend this attraction - well planned, full of interest and provides a real welcome to visitors.

Excellent, one of the best museums we have visited. Friendly & helpful staff. Good large Café with choice of drinks, snacks and meals at sensible prices, with wide range of merchandise for 'petrol-heads' and less enthusiastic visitors.
We spent 4 hours which included 45 minutes for lunch & rest. There is so much to see but all vehicles are well spaced and the electronic guide must be a class leading device - excellent, so you can immediately select a vehicle you are interested in, see the main details about it and for many of them listen to 'an interesting story about it'.
The whole visit is taken at your pace, no pressure to move on to the next within a set time. This was our first visit but we will be returning and plan to drive one or more of the vehicles around the 1 mile circuit. Thoroughly recommend this attraction - well planned, full of interest and provides a real welcome to visitors.

An excellent museum, giving a good history of the British motor industry over the past 100 years and the characters who built that industry. Well laid out, and excellent "Guides" via portable electronic devices and headphones. Exhibits are "regular" cars, not supercars and exotocs. - Cars YOU remember seeing and maybe driving. Cafe has good food and drink at reasonable prices. Great British Car Journey is strongly recommended.

Not bad but could be better

Lovely place, friendly staff but the technology and headphones killed it for me. Had to pay extra so my son got one in first place as kids tickets don't get one automatically, hes a teen with an interest in old cars so wanted to know the information. It was like a library walking round no one talking just listening to the information pumped through the headphones. We went round twice once with headphones once without so we could talk about the cars, point out the ones I had grown up with etc.
I can appreciate they don't want big notice boards up every where but I don't feel the headphones are the right thing.
The cafe was good value with a limited amount of merchandise available to buy.
We made our visit last 2 hours (hardly the day out I was expecting) that includes a stop in cafe and going round twice.

Hi 824vivkyi, We do appreciate that the interactive device and headphones can feel like you can't communicate with your group, but the audio can be paused and resumed from where you left off if you want to talk about the cars in the collection. We have gone down this route to make the journey interactive and allow you to discover as much or as little about the individual cars as you like. Best regards

Great experience
Oct 2021 • Family
Visited with 2 of my grandsons 15 & 11 and they were as was I really interested in the cars on show and some of the stories about them.
It was fun showing them some of the cars that family members had driven through the years and experiences with them.
Most of the models are in very good condition and not all British manufacturers are represented but still worth a visit.
Didn’t see any issues with hygiene and the toilets were very clean.
Fun time with the grandkids and even learnt some things that I was previously unaware of about some of the cars on show.

Motor museum with a difference

Good selection of cars that are well presented and cover the history of British motor manufacturing. Tablets with audio guides and QR codes on most of the cars for further information. Recommended.
