Colourful and crafty - an exercise in patience?

Someone has incredible patience creating sculptures out of mosaic. It is bright and cheerful - clearly fun to create and worth a visit. There is a donation box. Trying to keep up... read more

It definitely needs something interesting added. I wouldn't pay a donation to see it. Both myself and my Grandson were not impressed by anything.

Partly closed off for possible future reconstruction at present so only potentially interesting currently.

This sits opposite the famous Hunderwasser toilet and is in the same style. As you enter there are murals and large artworks etc made of mosaic. A lot of it was closed when we went. It is quite interesting. There is an " honesty" donation box at the front.

Partially closed due to a massive slip but still well worth the visit. Excellent photo opportunities.

We had seen this place before but not had time to stop so kids were thrilled when on this journey we had the time. They were not disappointed at all. It is not a big place but at only $6 per family it is worth it. It is a garden that is a work of progress with wonderful mosaics and... More

We stopped in Kawakawa to see the arty toilets, then started walking around looking at other colorful features. Across the street is a sign for the "Art Walk of Surprise" that says to enter through the Med cafe, so we did. There is a $2 fee and it is completely worth it. There are 3 or 4 levels of tiled... Fun attraction to spend a few minutes doing. You walk through a cafe, pay a $2 fee, and proceed along a path up a hill side that an artist has designed with all kinds of art materials. A good attraction to take young children through. You might even get a glimpse of the artist at work. Across the street from... More
