Great castle Great views Car park right next to it and free Toilets Shop Loads of views over the river Best example of small castle with ramparts to climb and holes to throw the prisoners in It's worth around 1 1/2 hours and take a picnic in too

We visited this castle to kill some time on a rainy Friday morning before going into Carmathen. Well it was a longer visit than planned as the castle is so well preserved with so many areas to explore. Inexpensive entry fee and dogs allowed and made welcome with a gravy bone !!

One of the best castles to visit. Great views and location. Towers and ramparts can be climbed, although the towers are very narrow to walk up. More information boards would not go amiss.

We've just moved to the area and decided to visit the castle. We weren't really sure what to expect but we've visited a fair few castles, as my husband does medieval re-enactment. We both agreed that this is the best we visited, and the best value for money. We visited with our three year old daughter, who loved roaming around... More

Went here for a trip out with daughter (grown up) and though I've been before, I always something new. There was a dragon statue in the grounds which was doing the rounds of welsh castles and we had great fun with that. The staff were friendly and I bought a nice book for my husband in the gift shop. This... More

The castle is worth a visit: It's a big castle and you can find out a lot about its past. There are several nice spots around the castle that are good for a picnic. A very small car park is directly in front of the entrance.

Had a brilliant visit to Kidwelly castle, it has just the right amount of ruined bits and largely in-tact bits so there are rooms, stairs, bits of wall to walk and towers with views. Limited number of signs explaining the history but enough to supply context to the stones. Thoroughly enjoyable.
