For such a small town, the civic centre was amazing with a range of facilities for both residents and visitors, incluidng a Cafe, a wonderful museum and play area for babies

Carrickfergus is a town rich in history and the museum is a great way to show how important this town once was. Free entry is a bonus, but the open times aren't great, it really should be open 7 days a week, to encourage people...More

Popped in for an hour to learn about the area and see artefacts found in the castle archaeological excavations. I recommend visiting the castle first and if you have time or interest walk pver road to museum. Self guided, but warm and not too much...More

The Carrickfergus Civic Centre is a pleasant venue with a souvenir shop, Tourist Centre, Cafe and art exhibitions. I can highly recommend.

It was raining and we wanted to get out of the rain. Google maps showed that we were around the corner from the Carrickfergus Museum, so we dropped in. To our surprise there was no admission fee. At the entry is a children's play area....More
