Overview
More
The Causeway Coastal Route is a designated scenic tourist drive around the coast of Northern Ireland between the cities of Belfast and Londonderry. The route follows the coast and takes you to several major tourist attractions along the way including The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, The Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery and the Glens of Antrim. There are also nine scenic loop roads that run off the main Coastal Route. These are: Islandmagee, Slemish Mountain, Glenariff, Glendun, Torr Road, Glenshesk, Bann Valley, Binevenagh Mountain and the Roe Vally. One of these (Torr Scenic Road)is quite narrow so do be careful if your not used to our small roads, one tip is to pull in your wing mirrors on the Torr Road.

We rented a car at Belfast Airport in order to do our own tour of the coast. Very easy to navigate (with help from GPS) We were able to see all the sights we wanted to see in one day. A most amazing trip!

We started at the Giant's Causeway - National (mis-) Trust. Dreadful scam. But then took the coastal route down to Larne, with several inland diversions via the glens. We had amazing weather. Really was wonderful! Do try it !

It is a gorgeous road that runs along the Atlantic Ocean shore. We had a your to the giant's causeway through this road and were absolutely amazed! Small villages are cozy and welcoming, the nature is a blast!

Depends what your interests are - personally I'd have thought 2-3 days absolutely maximum, if you want to stop and see/do things en route.
