Overview
More
The Causeway Coastal Route is a designated scenic tourist drive around the coast of Northern Ireland between the cities of Belfast and Londonderry. The route follows the coast and takes you to several major tourist attractions along the way including The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, The Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery and the Glens of Antrim. There are also nine scenic loop roads that run off the main Coastal Route. These are: Islandmagee, Slemish Mountain, Glenariff, Glendun, Torr Road, Glenshesk, Bann Valley, Binevenagh Mountain and the Roe Vally. One of these (Torr Scenic Road)is quite narrow so do be careful if your not used to our small roads, one tip is to pull in your wing mirrors on the Torr Road.

Lovely route. True beauty of Northern Irish coast abounds on pleasant drive to Belfast. The 9 Glenns of Antrum are as beautiful as other gorgeous parts of Ireland.

What amazing scenery and panorama’s along the route. We were in a tour bus, so had the advantage of being above the traffic with extended views to the sea. I can’t imagine that driving along the route would be easy for the driver as the...More

Did a fair portion of this route today. The weather was perfect so it gave every area a great chance to showcase itself. The beaches, cliffs, views, islands were all breathtaking, nearly something new around every corner. Lots of cool towns to pop into, signage...More

Beautiful scenery along this route. You pass through some quaint villages and farms. Don't be in a rush taking this route. Enjoy the drive on these sometimes quite narrow roads!

My Dad and I came to visit a cousin who works at the Bushmills Distillery so we took advantage of being in the area to do some walking. We didn't walk as much as the route covers, but we did the better part of two...More

Beautiful scenery along the entire length of the Route. Early in the morning there wasn’t much in the way of traffic so the driving was easy. There are enough pull outs to enable you to stop along the way and plenty of photo opportunities.

Took the Causeway Coastal Route from Belfast to Giant’s Causeway. Along with a number of stops in well marked parking areas we stopped at Carnlough, Cushendall and Ballycastle for photos. The views and coastline were superb with amazingly little traffic on the road. Take a...More

The coastal route is a nice drive and it's well sign posted. You are quite far from the coast for bits of it but on the whole it's a trip worth taking.

I would truly recommend a drive along the coast. It’s everything you imagine that the coast is supposed to be. It’s dreamlike. I couldn’t have been more impressed and I couldn’t have expected more. This coast is perfect.
