Coughton Court has been home to the Throckmorton family for 600 years, this finest of Tudor houses stands testament to a family's courage in maintaining their beliefs. From a position of high favour to one of fear and oppression post-Reformation, the Throckmortons were leaders in a dangerous age, helping to bring about Catholic emancipation in the 19th century. Explore this story of fascinating personalities through the 'family album' of portraits and Catholic treasures around the house. Coughton is still very much a family home with an intimate feel: the Throckmorton family live here, managing the stunning gardens which they have created.

Lovely house and stunning gardens.Very little for children to do apart from a short trail in the woods. As long standing members the resources for children were sadly lacking. Hope the trust can improve the visitor experience for children before the school holidays.

With a visit to learn about the conspirators of the gunpowder plot. The Tudor house is full of artefacts and the gardens are beautiful. There's even two churches to investigate.

Visited Coughton court today for a walk with our puppy. There are several different routes that can be taken, maps are available from the welcome centre. The grounds and surrounding area are beautiful and we had a great time!

We strolled the gardens of the court before heading inside. Lovely gardens well maintained. Although quite a few people visiting we did not get the impression that the Court was crowded. Lovely cafe for hot or cold food. Inside volunteers were on hand to answer...More
