No matter what time of year you visit the gardens are always stunning, even on a cold winters day. You can stick to the paths or wander further afield. So you can make it a quick visit or take your time. If you are visiting for the first time the house is also worth a look. There are some interesting... More

This is a fantastic venue for a family day out. The circular walk around the lake is just over a mile long and not very arduous, so a good choice for young and old alike. The views are stunning and there are plenty of nooks and crannies - a staple for any great outdoor adventure. Beware though - the ducks... More

A must visit in every season the changes in views never cease to amaze. A good size car park leads via the NT reception area with well stocked shop. Down a path to the Spread Eagle public house drinks or good dinning to be savoured post the Garden wander, approx 1 hour round the lake. Go right or left around... More

I adore Stourhead, it is a truly beautiful place. However, as we went on a very nice, cold and clear morning in January, naturally everyone else in the area seemed to have the same idea. That didn't damper the enjoyment of the walk though, which we took our golden retriever on and he had a great time. The only complaint,... More

Well worth a visit; living in Wiltshire, we are frequent visitors at all times of the year. The landscaping is always breathtakingly beautiful and one can quite see why this venue is frequently used for film sets. Restaurant and pub are also very good.

We visited for the second time yesterday. We wrapped up well and walked around the further stretches of the estate (having walked the beautiful lake last time), chatting and taking in the beautiful scenery. It was definitely a day for walking boots or at the very least, sturdy footwear, as the ground was quite boggy in places. Along the way... More

Stourhead has a large Garden and this changes all year round. With plenty of room to walk and seats are available around the garden, The house is also very interesting as it has stories to go with it.

We LOVE this place. Such a beautiful and well maintained landscaped garden! On a sunny day, I could easily lose 4 or 5 hours strolling around the lake and the woods in absolute bliss! Couldn't recommend enough!

We decided to go and visit this venue on the third of January. Sadly the house was closed but that just gives us an excuse to return for another visit in the spring. The lake and grounds are absolutely stunning, with little treasures hidden here and there. Take the free map that is offered of the walks, this will ensure... More

We spent a whole day here. The estate is extensive and there are so many hidden gems as you walk around, it is absolutely necessary to take the map so that you can make sure you see everything that there is to see -Temples, grottos, boathouse, lodge houses themed areas, gardens etc. There are amazing photos to be taken, during...
