Arbor Low Stone Circle is our closest English Heritage site, so I decided to go for a visit with my 20 month old today. It was well worth a visit. Extremely atmospheric in the morning mist. It only costs a pound per adult to pass...More

As the stone circle is only a short easy walk from the Arbor Low B&B it is well worth taking a stroll to see. Whilst there the views are stunning and you can walk the moors in any direction.

I'm sure it's a lovely stone circle but sadly our attempt to reach it was thwarted by a herd of cows who were mounting each other right in front of the gate to access the stone circle. Perhaps we will get to see it another...More

Poor signs, terrible road, you need 4x4 to get there or you risk damage to your car. Gave up, waste of time

The views from Arbor Low are spectacular. Wrap up warm even in the summer. Can imagine the lives of those who lived there in the past

Unspoilt, uncommercialized stone circle and barrow. Accessed through a farm with an honesty box parking charge of £1. Short trek over a field. Decent walking footwear would be advised as the field is grazed by sheep and therefore has droppings as you'd expect. Please respect...More

Some stones lying in a field by some careless iron age people! It is quite bleak, being very old is it's best feature, not a place to return to!

An incredibly important and impressive Neolithic henge in a lovely remote location. It's wonderful to think that for a paltry £1 placed into an honesty box anyone can view and wander around such a huge historic henge at their own leisure. The henge consists of...More
