Lea gardens is a gem of a garden that I think the locals keep a secret. I only knew about it because I visited as a kid and was in the area at a good time to see rhododendrons. It was Easter weekend so we expected it to be busy, the cafe was packed but it was worth the wait.... More

Lovely afternoon strolling around the gardens admiring the riot of colour. The gardens are spectacular, well maintained with every possible variety of rhododendron. Well worth the entry to see this eco system and bee haven. Followed by tea and cake enjoying afternoon sun looking over the gardens- there is a car park and side of road parking - highly recommend.... More

Our visit was as a result of reading other reviews on this website. They were right; there was plenty to see in early April with promise of much more, later in the spring. The highlight for us was the multitude of newts in a shallow muddy manmade pool to the side of the main building. An abundance of bird life... More

We enjoyed walking round the gardens, got a children's play area, the early rhododendrons were just coming into flower, they are the highlight of the gardens It has hilly paths, but easy walking Then went into the cafe for a light lunch, which was freshly prepared, tables cleared quickly, a very pleasant lunch
