Not much to see Only open short hours Staff nice but not much help about saltash Not easy access for wheelchairs or disabled Worth a visit if in the area

Elliott's store is a look back in time , the doors where closed on decimalisation and not much has changed since then ( apart from us getting older ) reminisce as much as you like!!

It was the big event in Saltash, the turning on of the christmas lights. Lots of fun in Fore Street with stalls, childrens lantern parade and all the shops open. An opportunity to look at how a small local shop ran into the buffers in the 1970s. An increase in rates and the inevitability of decimalisation proved too much for the aging owner who did not want change and who had no one to succeed or enervate him. The memories came flooding back every where I looked. The shop is exactly how it was when it closed so even the 1970's packaging bought back great memories. You can see how time progressed in the shop through things like the old gaslights, the grocery delivery bike, the coffee grinder and the old Babycham glasses !! It is a real... More
