Volunteer-run organization. Guides were very informative, and we were able to hold baby and adolescent turtles. Great to see my 87-year old mother-in-law holding sea turtles!!! Turtle eggs obtained when lain to protect them. Hatched in a small managed area and when old enough baby...More

We found the tour interesting. They had some good facts about the different types of turtles that can be found around Sri Lanka and really seem to care about protecting the turtles they care for. It’s a small place, run as a not-for-profit with limited...More

This is not what animal conservation is about. Massive mature turtles (albeit slightly handicapped but capable of moving - and probably surviving in the ocean) in tiny concrete pools with dirty water, no filtration and no food. No one there cares for the welfare of...More

This is a small place and will not change the future for the turtles. They did however seem committed and working well with the limited resources at their disposal. The guide spoke good English (unusual) and had a fair subject knowledge. Would be good for...More

A first hand experience with an endangered species, seeing how the turtles are rehabilitated after injury, buy-a-baby-turtle to release it into the water, what's not to like? It's a unique experience for kids.

Although is a small place, the turtle seemed to be well treated, the big ones are in recovery period and the small one are released into the sea. It could be another way for them to earn some money but on the other hand it's...More

Learnt a few things from an informative guide who was a volunteer. Didn't take long to look around. We weren't overly impressed with the tanks for the turtles who were injured and were being housed there long term, as they seemed rather small, but they...More

Really lovely place to visit! The man working there was so helpful and informative! There’s all kinds of turtles and they’re released back into the sea when they’re healthy and strong enough. You can hold some of the turtles but ask first so you don’t...More
