Get out and walk! It is the best way to visit Ireland. The Beara Way Walk is beautiful. Put on you hiking boots, be prepared for the weather and walk!

My husband and I walked the Beara Way at the end of Sept. It was quite a different experience than I had expected. There were good sized hills every day. Because there had been so much recent rain, it was very wet and boggy hiking....More

Mostly untarred roads follow old well worn ways leading over hills and thru various farm lands. Meet cows, spray painted sheep , local kitties, and occasional other two footeds. About 125 miles stretching from kenmare and around thru glengarriff, dursey and back to kenmare. We did...More

Lots of beautiful sights here. I love this area. Watch out for the sheep on the road. They don't seem to watch out for cars. And if you hit one you have to buy it!

We walked a few hours on the Beara way walk and back one day. The scenery is so beautiful, I could go on forever and forever. Don't forget to bring a small lunchpack and proper shoes.

Spent a wonderful day exploring the Beara peninsula. The landscape is simply stunning. My favorite part of our trip to Ireland!

Beautiful island to explore away from the tourist and tour buses. Cute towns to stop and explore. So much better than Ring of Kerry.

We stayed in Kenmare and liked it. But you need to either have a car or change hotels if you're walking far. Don't know about public transport. We took a bus from Killarney to Kenmare.
