Thousands fled Ireland, and thousands more perished during the Famine. Occasionally, people need to be reminded of not only the suffering, but the resurrection of the people and the area. Definitely worth the time. Spectacular views.

Cottages were interesting. Herding demo was great with Sailor and Buzz. Fun to watch and learn about their training. I want a border collie!

This farmhouse complex from the era of the famine displays the stark life of the farmers and workers, even before the years of blight. The interpretive panels provided historical context for this tragic period.

Stopped by here so we could get an idea how the Irish lived during the famine. Very sad and somewhat realistic.

Cheap place to visit on the Slea Head drive.. This is a must see tourist stop. It was very informative and interesting, even for the young children in our party. It was very quick and despite the rain, we thoroughly enjoyed our stop here along...More

Attended a fantastic show of dog trails with Gabriel and his dogs, my visitors loved it as did I. Famine cottages so amazing and a bee hive hut also. Animals too along the route and well worth the money. A bit for all the family....More
