Carne Golf Links lies in magnificent unspoiled sand dunes overlooking Blacksod Bay and the wild Atlantic Ocean near Belmullet Co. Mayo in the west of Ireland. Carne was the last links course to be designed by the late Eddie Hackett and it is now believed by many who have played it to be his greatest challenge. The building of Carne has caused little disturbance to this wild and ancient landscape. Tees and greens occurred naturally and very little earth moving was involved in the course construction. Along the course are some breathtaking views over the Atlantic and the legendary islands of Inis Glóire and Inis Géidh

We played the course on saturday and were so impressed, we asked if there was a tee time free on the sunday to play again. Initial round was off the green tees and we moved to the white tees on the sunday to test ourselves...More

1st stop in a 4 course tour Mayo/Sligo. What a course. Magnificent views, ample fairways making it playable, each hole offering something special. It's well worth the trip. Bar & restaurant excellent. Don't pass it by.

Even if you play modest golf the fresh air and the views from all parts of the course are worth the green fee in itself.

A unique and wonderful golf course that is classically designed and enjoyable to play. The scenery is hard to imagine, as the views are immense. The fairways are ample and the rough while vast is not the same as other courses where it is unplayable....More

This is a classic Irish golf course. It is how I imagine golf in Ireland was originally. Very little ground was moved. You just played around and through the huge sand dunes. A lot of blind shots. Get a caddy
