We came specifically to this part of Ireland to see this sculpture trail and in particular to see the pedestrian bridge created by George Trakas, and internationally recognized environmental sculptor. It is rare that in the first place a group of Artists/Sculptors are brought together to produce a series of wonderful pieces of Art. The Tir Saile concept is stunning in its designs and locations. This is the Erris sculture trail featuring a range of sculptures by a range of artists, the stye of each sculture is different ranging from stone sheep at Carrowmore, an abstract Mary and Child in Geesala to stone circles at Faulmore, Blacksod. I would recommend the drive, direction can be got at the tourist office in Bangor.

We were puzzled by the signs for Tir Saile and finally discovered that it is a sculpture trail. We only actually saw one of the sculptures - a giant anchor made of stones and laid out over a whole field in Ceathru Taidg.
