The car park to the beach is not far from the train station. It’s quite exposed here so make sure to come well wrapped in Winter. There is a narrow channel with strong currents to make sure to watch out for warnings. Lovely birdlife too.

Nice panorama, a sandy beach and good views of Lambay Island. At low tide an opportunity to walk on the rocks heading towards Low Rock.

Although it was mid-December, my husband and I took morning walk along the beach. It was a welcome respite after touring several cities. The beach is lovely and the water filled with picturesque boats and birds.

The tourist blurb called this a golden sandy beach - that was an exaggeration, it’s just about an average beach, not a great deal of sand, a lot of shells. Not what I would consider a proper beach

We had stayed in Malahide in the Beechwood country house B&B and the next day we were on route to Howth to take a walk down the beautiful pier and we stopped on such a beautiful sunny day the beach was buzzing with people walking.
