Our tour guide was Irish and has a wealth of knowledge about a kinsale as he grew up in the area. The guide told the history of the town in a storied fashion rather than reciting facts. Rather than just walk the town and seeing...More

Kinsale was one of the highlights of our biking vacation in Ireland. We would not have appreciated the long history of Kinsale and it's strategic importance without Barry's highly informative and entertaining walking tour of the town and how much has remained the same and...More

Hi, Can anyone help me? I am planning to spend a week in southern Ireland over Christmas time this year with my 21 year old daughter. We have never been to S. Ireland before. I have boiled it down to 4 locations where we have places we can stay. These are: Kinsale town centre, Courtmascherry, Baltimore and Crookhaven, Mizen Peninsular. Which would anyone suggest as being the best spot to base up for a week. WE will have a hire car, and enjoy visiting pubs, taking walks (weather permitting), and eating out. I am basically South African and my daughter studies in London. Thanks for any input. Ian
