During our recent stay in Kinsale, Ireland, we enjoyed several evenings in the Tap Tavern. It is a lovely, family-friendly pub with historic and convivial atmosphere and a snug turf fire in the fireplace on chilly evenings. The pub is owned by Mary O'Neil, whom...More

This place is small and so popular it's a squeeze to get in, but it's authentic Ireland. Roaring fire, a yester Year cash register, revolving double diamond advert, no music and a lovely 80 yr old proprietress that welcomes everyone personally and thanks you too...More

Mary was behind the bar the day we arrived in Kinsale. We promptly fell in love with her and this charming, historically significant family owned tavern. Our ghost tour started and ended here, and it was a great spot for making connections and gathering information...More

Hmmm...a tavern instead of a pub? What's the difference? Who cares? They serve drinks and have a cool patio with ancient signs (and an ancient well) and cool décor. The bathrooms are modern and the bartender is fun. Jumping off point for the Ghost Tour...More

Went here as it is the meet up spot for the Ghost Tour. I'm glad I was able to see it and hear it's great history. Don't miss seeing the old well in patio area.

Went to Mary's Tap Tavern both nights of our Kinsale visit. Small, intimate, just like our favorite watering hole at home. Easy to meet other travelers and locals alike. Full range of drinks, too. And the Ghost Tour is a hoot.

Does not fail to disappoint, straight up pub serving drink, nothing more, nothing less. Nothing more gastro than the bacon fries.

We stopped in mid week for a pint. Pub has a lot of character and was worth the stop. Wasn't crowded and chatted a couple of the locals. Mary the owner/bartender? Lol super cute.

There is a charge. I've not taken it, but I believe you walk around the ancient streets of Kinsale at night, hearing scary stories. I would use google for more info.
