An amazing stone fort built of dry stone. It makes one think about the history of this remote part of Ireland.

A ruin which was worth a look at from afar as you can't go near it as it had vegetation growing down it's walls which made an interesting photo
We took a small detour after seeing this castle from Valentia Island. The children enjoyed climbing to the top window. It is in a lovely setting.

This is a very very nice castle with the beautiful moss growing almost all over it. Getting there seems like private property or just small roads but totally free to enjoy the views of this awesome small castle and views from the top windows.
I had an awesome time at these ruins. When you arrive at this castle, don't worry - it's not private property. You need to go drive back roads, slide through the stile and walk across a field to approach the ruins. It's like an adult...More
