Our visit to West Cork would not be complete without a visit to Sherkin Island and the Jolly Rodger. Time seems to stand still here which of course is the attraction. This is a place where you will engage in conversation with the owners and...More

Just been to Sherkin, a nature lover's paradise! Loved the wildflowers, the country roads and the sandy shores, abundant with marine life. The crystal clear waters were refreshing for swimming and it didn't take long to slot into Sherkin-time - slow-paced and relaxing!

Despite the rain and it was relentless, we had a great day. The beaches are amazing, we could only dream what it would be like on a sunny day. Lots of walks and some of the best views ever.

A 10 minute boat ride to the island which operates quite regularly. Lovely well marked walks in the island, all fine and easy underfoot. Some great cocesxand beaches to enjoy. Well worth a day visit.
