- Laura R2 contributionsExcellent serviceI dined with my family in the hound restaurant about a week ago. The menu was amazing and suitable to our liking. The decor of the place was beautiful. We decided to dine here after our long walk along the beautiful gardens. We were greeted again by a fine gentleman James who we came across a couple of months ago back in November. James is a fantastic asset to mount Juliet. His charm enthusiasm and fantastic service was excellent. The restaurant again was very busy which was a good sign. James explained the drinks menu and wines to my mother who is a wine lover. James again remained calm and very courteous and professional at all times. I have dined In other 5 star restaurants before and never came across such service and professionalism like James has. He is a fantastic asset to mount Juliet and I can see this fine young gentleman going very far in life. I believe he is a darts lover as he was chatting away to my uncle about darts. The dishes were amazing we left very full and satisfied with everything.Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 16 May 2023
- vanholt87 contributionsLovely, scenic, relaxing havenAfter only a two day stay, I will miss the friendly and diligent staff who work hard to make the guest experience wonderful and relaxing in this lovely setting. We were lucky to have the most incredible spring weather. The rooms are attractive and spacious, albeit in a period manor house where they cannot be entirely modernized. The breakfast is generous and serves up many delicious local products. The Mount Juliet Estate is a place to rest and do whatever inspires you.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 June 2023
- Christy K.98 contributionsWhat an experience. Yee-hah!To start with, I wasn't guest in the hotel. I had a horse riding experience booked as my birthday present in hotel's equestrian centre. And what an experience that was!! Jess - the instructor - was amazing. I got to control the Doris (the horse, FYI) totally and then we found time to get my first hang of a throttle, which I used on few occasions during the stroll across the estate. Of course, mild spring weather helped to enjoy it to the fullest. It was an unforgettable experience, with two unforgettable girls, Jess and Doris. Thank you, staff of the Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre!Visited May 2023Travelled soloWritten 17 July 2023

I visited the estate for a wedding several weekends ago and had a great time at the wedding, but was disappointed in the hotel aspect of the trip. I had requested early check-in as I was coming in from overseas, but was not able to check in until after 2pm. Not the biggest deal, but the room seemed not totally clean when I arrived. The estate is set up for weddings and it was perfect for that, but I would not have liked to be a regular hotel guest. The cocktails in the bar, especially the old fashioned, were disappointing. The light switches in the room were unnecessarily confusing, and there were limited options for casual food at the hotel outside of the Hound. This is important as there is no other food or convenience store close by. The hotel would do well to have some sort of commissary on the premises. However, the worst part was when I went for a massage and was given a robe with a dark brown stain across the front. The spa area also did not feel very welcoming and my massage room had a skylight so the room was super bright. I had been very excited for my stay here and was expecting a lot, but was let down unfortunately at the quality of the hotel

A lovely, enjoyable couple days away, set in beautiful tranquil surroundings. Staff went above and beyond at all times, with the lovely little touches which gave a warm welcoming feeling. Food and the whole dining evening experience n the Lady Helen was sensational. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful property with echo's of times past.We visited in early Janurary when the Irish weather was wet and cold. Mount Juliet is a perfect place for this as you can sit in one of the grand rooms in front of a log fire and be spoiled by the friendly staff.
The rooms in the Manor House are a vision from past extravagence with the fit out of a modern five star.
there are numerous walks by the river and around the golf course.Bikes and a swimming pool are also on site.
Overall a wonderful few days visit which unfortunately most of us cannot afford more often.
Thomastown, a favourite place for artists and musicians, and Medieval Kilkenny City are only a short drive.

A truly enjoyable afternoon tea experience, thanks to AnnMarie and staff in the Manor House who went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable experience. The flavours were delicious, a delightful combination of savoury and sweet..each generous bite was mouthwatering. The service was attentive, prompt and so courteous. A divine afternoon in gracious surroundings . Dont waste your time or money anywhere else in Kilkenny for afternoon tea. Well done again AnnMarie, keep up the good work.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Staff are so very pleasant and eager to make us completely satisfied. Surprise treat was the cinema located in the manor house complete with popcorn, drinks and candy. Beautiful setting and top notch if you are a golfer. Afternoon tea is scheduled for this afternoon. I hope to come back one day and stay longer.

Bought a voucher for golf, dinner, bed and breakfast but when I tried to book it I found it is almost impossible to use. The voucher said
'not valid at peak times i.e. Easter, Halloween, July, August , bank holiday weekend and Christmas'
However when I attempted to use it I found I could not get any dates. After 6 phone calls where they refused every date even though they were available on the website, I eventually asked them to email the dates I could use it from 1/9 to 31/12. I was offered only 13 possible days over the entire quarter and they were mainly at the end of October on Sundays or midweek. Hardly the dates you'd pick to play golf!!!!!!!!

Yes I believe they do - it was snowing when we were there but I saw a temp control unit on the wall so I'm guessing it works both ways!
