Visited St Brendans a few weeks ago.As with all churches the outside layout is fairly standard. However the interior is beautifully fitted out and the only regret I had was I had too little time in this magnificent building. However I hope to rectify the situation on a future visit.Well worth the time to stop off and have a look.

The stained glass in this building needs to be seen in bright sunlight, it is spectacular. It is not a particularly large building but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality. Definitely worth a detour to see this and Loughrea town.

St Brendan's exterior is nothing special but the stained glass windows and the stations of the cross paintings are well worth a visit. Really there should be much more publicity about the windows.

St. Brendan's is one of the most beautiful cathedrals I've seen in my travels. The stained glass is magnificent and includes works by Michael Healy, my second favorite stained glass artist after Harry Clarke. The stained glass behind the altar and in the rose window is breathtaking. The church's interior is beautiful, with great marble and stonework. If I had... More

This cathedral is one of the finest in the West of Ireland. While most people focus on the stunning stained glass, the marble is almost as stunning. Well worth stopping off. No fees.

This cathedral is a feast for the eyes and the spirit. The sanctuary is a wonderful combination of the old Latin rite placement of the altar and the post-Vatican II changes. The stained glass windows are magnificent portraying familiar religious scenes. The marble on the walls is truly beautiful. It took my breath away to see all this opulence in... More
