A wonderful way to experience connemara

I booked the one and a half hour ride for just one person. Loved it! I would definitely come back for a longer ride :)

I looked at several places for horse treks around Galway. Wanted Irish countryside vs limited ride on a beach. Owner Roger took us out for great 1.5. Hour ride. Pony (Jim) perfect for my beginner teenage daughter and good horse (Betty) for me with riding experience. Bonus of Irish history along the trek. True working Irish horse barns. Nothing too... More

My partner and I were in Galway for 2 days and found Roger on TripAdvisor. We had an awesome time on our two hour trek. We both have very little experience on horses but felt comfortable throughout the ride. Will definitely be back next time we're on the West coast.

My husband and I had the most amazing time with Knockillaree Riding during our honeymoon in January!! While it was a bit windy and chilly that didn't put a damper on the trek at all. In fact, we weren't even thinking about the weather because we were too busy having a great time conversing with Roger, gazing at the beautiful... More

I will come back to Knockillaree and recommend it to anyone :) Myself and two other riders went for a trek with Roger in Connemara. It was a very foggy day and we were delayed so had to ring and explain that we were delayed. Roger was very understanding and we were enthused and made our way onwards. Connemara is... More

My boyfriend and I decided to book a trail ride to get the true feel for the Connemara-and we are so glad we went with knockillaree! Roger was warm and friendly and had remarkable running commentary of the area we were traveling in. All the horses were clearly well looked after and their behavior out on trail was a testament... Our hotel recommended this place to us. We did the tour with another couple, so it was just the 4 of us and the owner, Roger. Most of us were beginners and Roger was very patient with us; even gave us a quick lesson before we left. During our trek he went over the history of Connemara and took the... More

We booked a trek with Roger very last minute. He initially said 1:30pm but called a couple hours later and notified us he was running slightly behind and pushed us back to 2pm. Not a big deal at all. We got there and quickly hopped on some awesome horses, Jim and Dandy D. While riding, Roger talked about the history... More

Sitting in a nearby Ireland Pub on a late Wednesday night our family decided to go horseback riding before ending our family vacation. The bartender Pat from Power's Pub highly recommend Knockillaree Riding Center. I went on Facebook and found their page. I tried my luck and messaged them with no hopes of getting a response.. Before I could even... More
