These windows are remarkable for their detail, their beauty, their colour. Every time I drive through Athlone, i drop in for a visual feast. They were not designed by Harry himself, but he would thoroughly approve.

We found the Church of Saints Peter and Paul to be beautiful and peaceful. This is definitely a place to come find some quiet in your soul.

One to visit when you are in Athlone. A warm friendly atmosphere in the middle of Athlone, a feeling one would not normally get in a church. Take time to drop in on your next visit.

This church is known as the SS (steamship or saints) Peter and Paul. Possibly because it looks like a paddle steamer on the river. The architectural modelling of the church is very interesting, and it is beautifully lit up at night. Internally there are leaded...More

The six Harry Clarke stained glass windows from his Dublin studio are probably the highlight of this church , of a rather dull building.

This fine parish church is often mistaken for a cathedral and indeed in terms of its size and architecture it would certainly fit the bill as a cathedral but the cathedral for the diocese of Elphin is located in Sligo. The church was completed 80...More
