If I had to describe the Beara Peninsula in one word, it would be, “Wow!” Quaint little villages, phenomenal scenery, an unhurried atmosphere, and, perhaps best of all, no crowds. We started our journey in Kilgarvan, then headed to Gleninchiquin Park and Waterfall (wonderful), and...More

The walk up is steep and rocky during the early part but you are rewarded with outstanding views across Bantry Bay to the Sheep's Head peninsula and across to the Kerry mountains including the Paps and Mangerton. Well worth it !

Kees, the owner of the B&B that we stayed at in Bantry, recommended that we drive around the Ring of Beara (said that it was much better than the Ring of Kerry). Although we had considered doing this drive during our planning, we had decided...More

So glad we chose to ride the Beara Way than fight the tour buses on the ROK. The views were outstanding the hardly another car on the road. We ran into one other couple stopping for photos. It was a delight!

This is the best kept secret on the country - around every corner is an amazing view and if you get a sunny day - well it's mind blowing - call in the colourful cute villlages on the way - you even have a Buddha...More

Driving the Beara Way was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland! Avoiding the massive crowds we saw elsewhere on popular routes, we first stopped in the local grocery store which was stocked with so many take away choices! The best of homemade...More

The drive around is easy and pleasant despite the narrow roads. Luckily it is not as packed as the rings of Dingle and Kerry as the roads are not yet ready for busses. Looking at the ongoing roadworks the Beara team is most likely preparing...More

We went right round the Beara Peninsula on one of the wettest days I have ever seen and it was still absolutely spectacular. Very beautiful on the north coast and atmospheric in the mists. The sun actually came out for half an hour while we...More
