We were staying nearby, so it was a natural for us. The boat ride is nice enough but the island tour was also interesting.

Garnish Island is so beautiful in the summer. We were offered a ride on the dingy of a friendly local. So glad we took the offer! Keep an eye out for the seals that frequent the area, so cool. There is a lot to see on this island and tons of paths to take. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

This place was an absolutely unexpected piece of heaven in our tour of southern Ireland even though it was on a drizzly day. The ferry ride to the island on the Harbor Queen II was amazing. Not only did we see Seal Island which contains a seal colony that lives there, we also had scenic views of Maureen O'Hara's former... More

While on hols in Glengarriff a trip to Garnish is a must! We took the Boat from the Harbour Queen Ferry that's located just across from the wonderful Eccles Hotel! My Children were well looked after the boatmen made a great fuss of them in fact! Brendan and crew were amazing! The island itself was so wonderful, full of color... More

Brilliant spot for all the family. Well worth the visit. You catch the ferry boat from pier across the road from glengarrif hotel. Staff are firendly and full of chat. The island itself is a wonderful collection of plants and trees with some brilliant views. Went with kids who complained when it was time to go - plenty of places... More

We got the ferry over to Garnish Island on Sunday 23rd October. It was a lovely cold sunny winters day. We went on the guided tour of the house. Our guide was excellent (regrettably I don't remember her name) and the tour was very informative. Although most of the plants were not in bloom as it was October, the gardens... More

I was at a loose end while here and someone suggested I visit Garnish Island. I'm so glad I did. The house had only just opened to the public and the guide was so knowledgeable and made it very interesting. The gardens were incredible and there were so many interesting plants and buildings. Definitely worth spending an afternoon there.

We really enjoyed our day here. The kids loved the boat and being able to roam and explore the magical island.

I finally managed to visit Garnish Island to see the newly restored Bryce family home after failing in the summer because of the long waiting queue - and was it ever worth the effort! The Office of Public Works [OPW] has done a wonderful job on the family cottage, extended by the Bryces over the years after their grandiose plans... More
