We were told about Chawkes by a the owner of Mikey Ryan's in Cashel. When dropped in for a drink and found it delightful and welcoming. After the racing at Clonmel the next day, we returned to follow the evening card at Chelmsford. This time the welcome from staff and locals was delightful. If you want to see what being... More

not for the faint hearted..the hurling debates can be intense..one might get injured by a loose ball. The proprietor of the establishment, a Mr Gerard Chawke is a kind hearted, soft spoken, mild mannered gentleman of Limerick descent.
