I was so lucky to visit it when sun was shining. Otherwise I am afraid that it wouldn't look so stunning. Beautiful ruins, the Celtic crosses on the cemetery. It's a must seen when in Ireland.

Beautiful church ruins and cemetery high on the rock with sweeping views over the green countryside. The history of the churches and the way the servants could walk behind the walls was interesting. Plenty of Celtic crosses overlooking the valley.

Loved the abby with the roof gone it gave it such a wistful feeling and all the graves surrounding the buildings. Around every corner I wanted to take a picture. For some reason the guided tour seemed boring and dry. I tried to follow her...More

I think, because this isn't a traditional castle with floors and tourist areas, etc....this would be a good place for a 3 year old boy to enjoy with supervision. Nothing to break. Nothing to disturb. Plenty of really, cool... More

we purchased 15 euros worth of stuff at the visitor center in town and were given a voucher for 2 adults admission. Don't know if this offer is good for everyday, but we visited on a Tuesday.
