It is a hidden gem; small , clear-blue-green waters (if you are lucky enough to visit it in a sunny day - I was )

This beach is overshadowed by the Military Museum at Fort Dunree and is a lovely safe beach for children. It is very far off the main beaches in the area and rarely gets too busy in the summer. Sometimes visitors to the Fort will come down and investigate. Some stay and the rest move on. There are no coffee shops... More

This beach at Dunree Bay is beautiful and a real, hidden gem. Well worth the short walk from the road, the views are spectacular. Bring a picnic as there's nowhere close by, hopefully you'll be fortunate enough to get a good day.

I love the out of way places and you won't find too many tourists here. Take an apple for the horse on the way to the water. Pristine and off the beaten track. Most would not swim there since water is too cold for most. Bring your own pick-nic and you will enjoy.

Beautiful beach with close to white sands and clear water in Ireland! It was cold when we traveled to this beach but it was still a stunning sight to see. I could imagine this beach being very popular on a nice sunny day. A must see if you go up north in County Donegal.

The locals call this beach 'Portban' Truly a little piece of heaven on earth! Very long and quiet beach, often we had the whole place to ourselves including at sunset when the sun sets out over the bay, beautiful. Beach is accessible by walking along a fence from the parking lot and coming over the sand dunes.

Nice town able to get presents for grandchildren. Went on Waterbus tour. Excellent. There was a member of staff who narrated through out telling some amusing tales . Towards the end he sang songs we were told later that he had actually been with a professional group .
