I love Elvaston castle. We live nearby so it's convenient and there's lots of different routes and things to see. Toilets are available and there's a shop on site too. The 3 stars however is for the cafe. This place is ALWAYS busy, they should be able to anticipate they're going to be busy and be able to be prepared... More

I've grown up going to this place and have had some great times here, ithe have nice scenic routes around the groundsame with a few areas to explore. Great when they have events here an local craft fairs etc! Is definitely a nice place to visit in summer and if you don't mind the cold winter does change the whole... More

The grounds of Elvaston Castle are a great place to visit. You can wander about the park to your heart's content but if you want more then look for the Victorian Walled Gardens and also the Italian Gardens with all the clipped hedges - magic!

Great little park interesting to explore the grounds and garden. Name is a little misleading as it is definitely not a castle.

Great place to visit if you like county/woodland walks. Great to wander around with kids and dogs. If you want peace and to be able to let dogs off visit on a weekday in school hours as weekends get quite busy. The house has a nice exterior but the inside is off limits due to poor funding from derby city... More

Living nearby, I have always visited Elvaston Castle my whole life and I think it's great to have such a great place right on my doorstep! Perfect for dog walking, strolls with the pram, wanders on summer evenings, brisk walks in the winter! Also good to gather with lots of friends with the children on the open spaces - great... More

My favourite place. Elvaston Castle has been the back drop to so many fantastic memories that actually writing a meaningful review for someone unfamiliar with the place is pointless. But here goes. The castle is run down because it's a burden to the council. The gardens are varied and amazing, despite being a burden to the council. Its cheap, costing... More

Went for a walk with four teenagers and three young children. Was plenty to see and chat about to keep all ages busy. Older children enjoyed exploring woods, chatting with grown ups and each other younger ones loved the carvings, muddy puddles and play park.
