Having been blessed with a sunny February half term, we decided to visit Penshurst Place. The Garden trail was simple but enjoyable, with children running all over looking for the hidden answers. The gardens look as expected for this time of year but it was interesting to see the forthcoming plans in the Gardener's notes. The House is closed on... More

I went here with my daughter and two young grandchildren during half term week for The Great Illustrators' Trail, described on their website as "Wander through our winter gardens this half term and help us match a few fantastic illustrations, to the much-loved children's books they come from!" Apart from the starting point the route was not signposted, there were... More

My family have always bought a season ticket and get lots of use from it. The food is really nice I always get macaroni cheese with French beans and potatoes. Yum yum yum!

As visitors from the north we were keen to visit Penshurst after reading a review in the local free paper. We were aware that the house was closed but thought we could have a walk and lunch. The walk was limited so went for lunch. The standard of food was very poor. The tea had to be eturned as the... More

We believed all of the hype about the Narnia experience for our three children to meet Santa at Penshurst Place; what a mistake that was! After travelling 60 or so miles from Herne Bay to give our children a memorable meeting with Santa, we were all sorely disappointed by a pathetic and very brief 'trip' through Narnia. Our children were... More

We attended in the evening, our 4 year old daughter did some crafts first and was called to meet Father Christmas, we went up a beautifully lit path to a little room, she had to knock on the wardrobe door and was greeted by Mrs Beaver who led us through Narnia woodland, wow is all that can sum this walk... Went for lunch at the 'Porcupine Pantry' today. Paid £15 for two hot drinks and paninis, however when our food finally arrived 15 minutes after ordering (there was a sum total of 4 other tables occupied in the restaurant!) we found that the salad that accompanies the paninis was actually mouldy and inedible, along with a mouldy tomato... not fantastic,... I am terribly sorry that your experience in the Porcupine Pantry was not up to our usual high standards. We pride ourselves on our customer service and delicious homemade food and have systems in place to ensure our food is served in accordance with food safety guidelines. We had a great afternoon enjoying the goodies in the tea room and the gift shop at Penshurst. The grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed meeting Father Christmas after entering Narnia through the magic wardrobe. Great value and well organized. So pleased we booked this treat for the grandchildren.

A lovely and well presented piece of history, and if you have young children and can delegate a member of your group to keep an eye on them the adventure playground will keep them occupied whilst you get your fill of an excellent educational experience. The gardens are great as well, and with a small restaurant/cafe and an excellent gift... More

We have visited today for the Halloween treats, we took my 9yr old daughter and her friend who couldn't have enjoyed it more and just goes to show that the big main attractions around the country come a poor second when the staff are as good as these at Penshurst, didn't see one frown, was extremely clean and well kept...
