Just an off the beaten path side trip

This attraction will have more appeal to lighthouse enthusiasts for sure, it's down a short dirt road on a windswept beach. There's a marsh beside it where we saw herons and waterfowl.

PEI get-away beach and lighthouse
Aug 2019 • Couples
You drive and drive down a red dirt road. Potholes. No signage. But then you find a tiny parking lot. A beautifully restored lighthouse. And an amazing get-away beach. We walked around the corner toward St Peters Bay, past the broken post ghosts, and it was perfect. So shhh!

Quintessential Eastern PEI

It is hard to review the Lighthouse without including the beach. You do have to know where you are going to find this attraction, and there is minimal parking, so getting there early in the day will reduce the possibility of dents to vehicles. The Lighthouse is worth seeing, as is the beach - a very beautiful stretch of sand, and you can see Greenwich from the point (look across from the derelict wharf). It's a great spot to dig in the sand, collect shells on the beach, or spend time with a book!

Beach Day
Aug 2018
It was decided by or group to tour the "East" and beaches were the priority. Headed east from Charlottetown, with dogs in tow. Our group really enjoyed the warm water, gentle waves and the beautiful sunshine at St. Peters Harbour Beach and the lighthouse made the visit, that much more enjoyable. Great beach, nice lighthouse and absolutely spectacular visit.

Quite remote

Worth finding down a dirt track. A very pretty spot and an attractive beach behind the lighthouse. Don't think many people make the effort to visit but it's worth it.

OK - better for the beach
Aug 2018 • Family
As a destination, the St Peters Lighthouse is so-so. You can't go into it, climb it, or even go near it. Its a long way down a narrow road with nearly no parking. Then a little hike through a narrow path bordered by sawgrass.

The real attraction is the nearby beach. Much better. The lighthouse is kind of reminiscent of one at a miniature golf course. It looks almost fake.

So come for the beach, if you are coming.

Hidden jewel
Aug 2017
Beautiful lighthouse and hidden beach! not crowded or too busy! Sand is white and it is a great place to hang out with family or if you want to just relax. We did not see any lifeguards ... but it was beautiful and a must see if you like peaceful and scenic beaches.

Refurbished light house.
Jul 2018 • Solo
This light house was just refurbished and looks beautiful. Unbelievable place to take pictures! It is not really easily accessed by car but with a nice walk along the St Peters Harbour beach you can access this location.

Lighthouse and the old wharf
Jun 2018 • Couples
After visiting the Greenwich area of PEI National Park, we drove over to check out the St. Peters Harbour Lighthouse and the ruins of the old wharf just down the beach. We accessed the lighthouse and beach at the end of Lighthouse Road off St. Peters Harbour Road.

Let me tell you it is worth the effort to drive down and check the lighthouse out. It has been lifted up onto several rows of beams as the sand and completely surround and had started to cover it up. All that work including painting and upkeep has been undertaken by the St. Peters Harbour Lighthouse Society.

A bit further down the beach to the right, you will find the pilings of the old wharf that was at St. Peters Harbour.

It is well worth the effort to get out to see the lighthouse and the of wharf ruins. With any luck, you'll be the only person out there.
