About
Honeybourne Pottery is a family business run by potter’s Alan & Annabel Cusack, who live and work in the beautiful countryside bordering the North Cotswolds. We specialise in both wheel- thrown and slab-built pieces, creating functional hand-crafted tableware. When were not busy making our own designs, we teach classes catering for individuals, families and groups. We welcome people of all ages - from complete beginners to those with more experience. Our studio and tranquil setting, create a calm space away from the stresses of the outside world, where people can escape for a few mindful hours learning about the beauty of clay. Workshops range from one-off potter’s wheel taster sessions, to longer courses; spanning 10-week terms, taught from our studio in Honeybourne. For more details and booking, please visit our website. We look forward to welcoming you to our studio!

Just a wonderful way to spend a morning. Expert but accessible tutoring and lots of space to experiment. Lovely relaxed atmosphere in a working family pottery - highly recommend.

Top tip: Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty
Nov 2021
Make sure you wear suitable clothing as you will get messy. I had not done anything with clay since my school days, and never with a wheel. This was a great fun activity that should suit most ages and abilities. I especially liked how there was no shortage of clay so you didn't feel limited.

Pottery Experience
Nov 2021
A really good 1st experience on a Pottery's wheel. Alan and his partner were very welcoming and friendly. The studio was very comfortable. Alan showed us the basics and then walked around encouraging us throughout the session, there was unlimited clay for us to work with. It was great fun for me and my friend.

Great 1/2 day play with clay...

A great pottery experience! My first time using a potters wheel, but with an easy-to-understand demo from Alan, and not taking ourselves too seriously, it was fab!.. Alan kept clay and water topped up, and was on hand for advice. Covid safety measures were in place, so we felt very safe. There is a large, and small room, so the 4 of us were in the small room, so it's ideal for small or larger groups... all in all, a pleasant way to spend a morning /meet up with friends. Highly recommend.

Good present!
Nov 2021
I was given the Taster Workshop as a present & my husband decided to join me. We had a great morning.
It was an enjoyable experience -Alan's demonstration made it look quite simple but my efforts were definitely not Throwdown standard!
Would certainly recommend it & it the workshop could be an unusual present.

Clean, friendly, great experience.
Nov 2021 • Family
I went with two friends. We had enjoyed the Great Pottery Throw Down and thought it might be fun. We had a lovely lunch at the Thatched Tavern which is nearby and then did the pottery taster session. Everything was clean, Alan was friendly and helpful and we had good instructions and lots of clay to practice with. We then chose a pot to be fired which we can collect in 5-6 weeks time. This is an additional cost but it will be a good souvenir.
