Just spent a brilliant day at Croft Castle. Loved walking round, the sunshine helped, the great expanses of beautiful land. Lots of well signposted walks. The kids LOVED the castle playground and the natural play area. Even though the place was busy it didn't feel crowded and we walked to the top of the hill behind the house. Amazingly peaceful... Visited over the Easter weekend and thought it lovely. I enjoyed the walled garden in particular. I thought that this was much more suitable for children than the nearby Berrington Hall, with an impressive playground for them. Without going into the castle, we still spent quite a few hours here. Excellent.

Live local but had never been so decided to visit over the Easter break, firstly I was a bit confused as to why you have to pay more to get in to gift aid your entrance fee as I thought gift aid worked by taking a percentage rather than customer/donator paying more but I may be wrong, we went into... Lovely castle set in beautiful grounds. The walled gardens are interesting and light lunches are served from the cafe/ restaurant. This gets busy so we had to sit in the courtyard. It was sunny so perfectly all right. There are plenty of walks to do and again the staff were very helpful.

Peaceful setting with acres of walks and a wonderful garden. The house is very interesting too. Activities for kids and a nice cafe. All in all a very good way to spend an afternoon or even a full day.

Has a great day out here yesterday. Weather was glorious and the views were fantastic. Price for admission was £11 (despite me saying that I couldn't gift aid my admission as I'm not a uk taxpayer - I'm a student which was annoying) then being pressured into joining the trust (how many times can you say I'm not currently employed?)... This is a lovely place to visit on a nice sunny day. There is a large walled garden which is beautiful to behold. Extensive parkland walks are another great feature of this property.(Although more than one visit would be needed to cover all walks). The castle itself has a fascinating history which goes back around 1,000 years.Helpful guides are also on... Wow! I wasn't expecting so much to see! The hip use (castle) is stunning, shame there's no bedrooms to see. Beautiful little chapel and fantastic walled garden. The overall grounds are vast and this is a fantastic way to spend a long afternoon. The cafe/restaurant is very good and plenty of seating.

This will be a brief review but hopefully its contents will be noted. As a life member of NT and a regular visitor to Croft Castle & Parkland, it is so sad and depressing, year after year, to find that the property management at this particular venue sadly don't seem to realise that although it is a beautiful country house...
