For $5 you can enter this quirky place that was once a theatre. Inside is a bizarre range of dinosaurs and taxidermy exhibits which are fun to look at, sketch, photograph ... Afterwards you can grab a coffee nearby.

I had been wanting to come here for a while and the time finally came. My husband and 2 year old also came along. We paid our $12 and went through the curtain into the big room. I felt a little lost and didn't know where to start. I wasn't sure what was real and what wasn't. The displays were... More

Completely amazed by the set up. It was like walking into a British mansion collection of curiosities. Amazing. My daughter (4yo) loved looking at everything. Well worth the cheap entrance fee.

Despite the non-descript exterior and entrance, the Academy of Taxidermy is a rather large room bursting with artefacts, exhibits and information. We wandered around inside for quite a while, astonished at many of the discoveries we made. Truly a serendipitous find! And worth it for the very reasonable entry fee.

Hidden away in Guidford (although the huge dinosaur outside might give it away) is the Academy of Taxidermy museum. What a surprising treat to view so many species on display... Some spooky, some amazing and some totally awesome. We spent ages looking through the exhibits today. Unusual for most places is the modest entry fee of $5 per adult. Recommended.... More

We have visited the Museum a few times and have always been warmly welcomed and enjoyed our time there. We were so impressed we hired a bus and organized a big family day out. Picked up Grandma and Grandad, grandchildren, friends and their children, the bus was full of happy faces. Everyone enjoyed the uniqueness of the museum. Michael was... More

What an amzing find in the historic village of Guildford.. a museum of animals, insects and of course dinosaurs. It is brilliantly located in the Western Australia's most intact town of first settlement, great for the kids with an ice cream parlour next door..and also as part of daytrip to the historic town.

We took our grandchildren to this hidden gem during the school holidays. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves exploring many different types of animals, both current and past. The dinosaurs were of particular interest to them. The museum also had videos running - you could sit in the corner area and view as long as you like. Birds, reptiles, mammals, insects and... More
