Perth landmark, and one of the oldest buildings in WA. Whether an international tourist will be impressed is open to speculation, considering many come from places with palaces etc 100s of years old. Long walk from the city either across the Narrows Bridge or from the ferry at South Perth.

I have driven past the Old Mill a zillion times as I headed from the city towards Fremantle and it has taken me 12 years to actually visit here. In the old days, it must have been in full operation, a bustling location that sided the banks of the Swan River. Like many Dutch and English mills, she is white... More

We Always enjoyed seeing the windmill when we were kids. Close to Perth and a nice place to take a walk along the river as well.

very nice small place, excellent to show children how it used to be. How you make flour or old irons etc we spent there around 30-40 minutes

The Old Mill is located at the intersection of the Mill point rd and the gorgeous South Perth Esplanade. This historical piece has very well complemented the modern architecture of the South Perth offshore area. If you visit the South Perth offshore it is worthwhile to look into the Mill.

A really nice spot to stroll in and checking out old historicsl artefacts. Entry by coin donation. It was staffed by a really nice volunteer when we visited. please check out the story about Cocky... Shenton's Mill (now known as the Old Mill) is an interesting place to visit, and it's really a miracle, in Perth's fervour for knocking down old buildings, that it's still there. It dates from the very early days of European (British) settlement and there is some significant Aboriginal history to be taken into account when visiting it. You could google... More

South Perth offers so much. This old flour mill is right alongside the freeway and is just an amazing place to visit. There's plenty of parking, views across to the city and lots of interesting things to see. Built in the 1830's is one of the older buildings in Perth.

Interesting and informative, great to see the history preserved. Buses stop at the door, car parking, entry fee.

The Old Mill has been around for an awfully long time. Some bright spark wanted to demolish it but fortunately those forces with a sense of continuity prevailed. The Old Mill has some other relics from Perth's colonial past that make a visit worthwhile..
