The rooms are lovely, as is breakfast. The views are stunning. If you have a car... this is great for a 1 night stop over. You can drive up to the Arboretum, which is right by the Thai-Myanmar border and watch the sunset looking down on Myanmar. The restaurant is no frills but the food is good. Doi Tung is... More

Remember to visit the Mae Fah Luang Garden upon arrival in Doi Tung before proceeding to the beautiful wooden villa set on the mountain top. Use the free audio guide to set the pace of the tour of the villa.

I was so surprised when entering as the gardens were spectacular. So well laid out and kept immaculate So many colours and a different aspect around each cornor. The steps were quite steep to go in and I was worried about climbing them again but the exit way is so much easier. I might ask to go in that way... More

The mother of the late King Rama XI had this wonderful villa built. It is designed much like a Swiss Chalet with Thai interior. The walking tour with headphones is wonderful and explains most of what you are able to view. The detail throughout are fabulous. This is a special treat for any who have learned about the Royal Family,... More

Lovely place to visit for a morning or afternoon, this house is built almost entirely of wood, but in a European style. You can take audio tours around it using the devices provided, and you get some quite stunning views from the balconies. It is worth mentioning that as this is a former Royal abode you will be required to... More

The late Kings Mother lived here and it was a simple but elegant place. An awesome view and the surrounding grounds was beautifully kept. Worth touring.

We had only planned to spend about an hour there but when we started to look around we decided to spend the day. The villa is beautiful and in excellent condition. The gardens are amazing and the views from around the area are great. The history behind this development is also very interesting and is a very worthy cause. The... More

We visited both the royal villa and the beautiful gardens during our visit. The late King's mother lived at the villa during her latter years. The audio in English is excellent and gives an accurate account of her simple life and how she assisted the local tribes people. The gardens when we visited where in full bloom and quite spectacular.... More
