First of all, it's not red - it's the same beige as you see on beaches along bigger roads. The beach is huge and since it was misty when we went we couldn't see the ocean from the edge of the sand, let alone seals....More

We went here on a Saturday afternoon and were alone. It was great to sit and just relax. The beach was pretty and of course the cliffs also. What screwed us up was finding the place. One local map showed us that you turn right...More

The landscape is incredible. I went there during summer, and I was really impressed by the sand color.

I must say, to reach this beach we drove over some very narrow, winding, slippery scary roads. It had just rained so the roads were very slick. Very little gravel. Hair pin curves. Anyway, we reached the bottom and there are 2 choices - either...More

Yes, believe me! The colour of the sand is ‘reddish’ (despite what some of the previous reviews state) and it changes in colour with the time of day, the different weather conditions and the seasons. The beach dazzles in the sun during the summer months...More

A lot of people is curious about this beach and expect a lot - rose sand, turquoise water and so on. To be honest, it was a disappointment for me, because it looked just like normal beach, only enormous one.

The road out to the beach is a bit rough with a 2 wheel drive but in the end really a fun side trip. The French café was lovely with a great view. The sand was fine and soft and had a reddish hue. Great...More

I really don't know what the other reviews are talking about. There is nothing really extraordinary about the sand on this beach. Sure, it is a nice peaceful beach, but the sand looks just like a million other beaches I have been on. If this...More

We stopped here on our way out to the bird cliffs. About 10km on a rough road. It was marked as standard, and I saw small cars out there but we were glad to have the 4wd. There is a nice walking path, you can...More

Veey beautiful beach, remote and not busy at all. Got attacked by birds (oystercatchers and other birds) on my way there though-must have gotten close to their nests. Can't blame them for it.

You can drive all the way to the parking lot behind the French cafe. It is more or less a flat walk through the reeds/grass on a good path. We probably walked it in about 20 minutes. It is an easy walk. I have an arthritic... More
