Played here Easter Monday pm and it was quiet. A nice course layout fairways greens in good nick for time of year and the weather was sunny [got a bit of sun burn on the face] with clouds so was pretty warm but when the clouds blocked the sun and with the wind it was pretty cold at times. This was a course I really wanted to play. It was designed by James Braid. When we arrived there was no-one in the car park but like all of the golf courses in the North of Scotland the clubhouse was partially open. Locker rooms were open so access to toilets was available. I had been looking forward to playing Reay for a long time. However I was a bit disappointed. Not a real links in my opinion….the turf was more parkland that links. Greens were not great either. Interesting front nine but got a bit bored on the back nine. My wife found a few of the ladies tees a bit challenging.... More
