The Discovery Centre is a world-class ecotourism facility nestled in the heart of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. As the #1 Attraction in the Daintree it provides a wonderful introduction to this iconic world heritage destination. The spectacular Canopy Tower and Aerial Walkway allow visitors to explore every level of the forest and Audio Guides in 6 languages are a hit with overseas visitors. But it is it’s innovative Carbon Offset Project that is attracting attention! Part of every entry fees goes towards ‘saving the planet’ via its bio-sequestration scheme. The Discovery Centre is sustainable ecotourism at its best!

We loved learning about the different plants, bush tucker and the history of the rainforest. This would be a great outing with kids or anyone interested in nature. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. After had looked around we shared the bush tucker platter at the cafe onsite which was pretty tasty. The multi-day pass was a bonus... More

The entry fee of $32.00 pp was excessive. We were disappointed that we were not told before purchasing our tickets that the tower was undergoing maintenance and that we would be unable to climb it and experience the top of the canopy and the bird life there. Consequently we did feel that we did not get value for money. For... More

We are sorry you were disappointed with your visit on the day the Canopy Tower was unavailable. The Tower is a highlight but occasionally needs safety maintenance, we advised everyone on entry that day and a 20% discount on the rate was given for the inconvenience. Your ticket is valid for 7 days so you are welcome to return and... More

It was a short but expensive broad walk with not-informative audio guide. The audio service should be improved. The 23m canopy was not impressive at all. It was a good tourist trap. The hotel receptionist who used to be a tour guide didn't recommend here. I should've listen.

I was the first visitor of the day at 915 on a Monday morning and hanging out for a coffee. So the host suggested I grab a takeaway and get started on discovering the rainforest. Great advice. Super coffee! I spent well over an hour exploring the canopy, walking the trails and of course climbing the tower. The variation in... More

Very informative about the rainforest & it's inhabitants. Personnel engaging & helpful. Loved the green tree frog in the building. Didn't look real! This stop is a must to understand & appreciate the rainforest ecosystem.

We spent over 2 hours doing a self guided walk at the Discovery Centre. We found the staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with their explanation of the attractions at the centre. The layout of the centre and audio - guide book information has been completed very well - you do not feel overwhelmed with information. We thought it was... More

We stopped by in the AM on the way to Cape Tribulation as it was recommended it by our hotel (Silky Oaks lodge). The audio tour is definitely well done and we really enjoyed learning about the flora and fauna. The lookout tower gives you a totally new perspective and appreciation for the forest. The staff were very warm and... More

We enjoyed the Audio and guide book tour explaining aspects of the rainforest some truly ancient specimens along with some great animated megafauna creatures. We also enjoyed the palm canopy located at the strangled fig.

Second time I have visited this centre, love the walk around the trees, sounds of the birds. Every time I see something different, butterflies birds, spiders (aghh) and other rainforest dwellers. Very informative staff explain the purpose of the centre well. Take some time and support this centre
