The Discovery Centre is a world-class ecotourism facility nestled in the heart of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. As the #1 Attraction in the Daintree it provides a wonderful introduction to this iconic world heritage destination. The spectacular Canopy Tower and Aerial Walkway allow visitors to explore every level of the forest and Audio Guides in 6 languages are a hit with overseas visitors. But it is it’s innovative Carbon Offset Project that is attracting attention! Part of every entry fees goes towards ‘saving the planet’ via its bio-sequestration scheme. The Discovery Centre is sustainable ecotourism at its best!

A very expensive 1 hour walk around a boardwalk. The audio wasn't too bad. But we preferred just walking around and taking in the sounds of nature. The entry fee of $32 was quite high, plus the $25 ferry fee to get over to this side. Mossman gorge is free and gives you greater views of the Daintree.

Hi there! We are still on a high after winning DOUBLE GOLD at the 2015 Queensland Tourism Awards for 'Best Tourist Attraction' and the 'Steve Irwin Award for Ecotourism' on the weekend. We will now be competing at the National Tourism Awards for the best attraction and also the best ecotourism facility in Australia! Mossman Gorge also attracts a fee. More

A 75 minute drive north of Cairns brings you to the Port Douglas area and the Daintree Rainforest. A well organised attraction that allows you access to the rainforest that has primitive flowering plants and in excess of 400 species of birds. You traverse the rainforest, above and below, via sturdy metal walkways. Wildlife and sounds abound here. There is... More

I was a little underwhelmed after going to mamu tropical Skywalk in Wooroonooran National Park (which is larger) however the Daintree Discovery centre is worth a visit if you are in the area. It is a beautiful part of the rainforest and the audio tour was very informative, you also get a great booklet about the rainforest included in the... More

What a great place to visit! Not too far from our base in Port Douglas. The guide book and the handheld voice guides told us everything we wanted to know. The walkways were so easy to navigate and the view from the tower was awe inspiring. The staff really make the place, they were very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed... More

This centre is crammed full of wonderful experiences and information – and presented in a leisurely, easy-to-understand form for both kids and adults. Stroll gently through the rainforest floor and treetops, and see the sort of things you've only seen before in wildlife films. When we were there (October) a mass of Metallic Starlings had just arrived from New Guinea... More

Really lovely place to visit. Beautiful scenery and a fair bit of educationally stuff about local flora and fauna. Although a bit pricey really for what is offered, we enjoyed the visit.

This was a very pleasant place to visit. Lots of walking trails on boardwalks and very informative. The handheld devices for the points along the way was a very good idea. Lots to talk about. The history of the area, the flora and fauna. So much information.
