It is a beautiful place to spend a day with your family. Take a boat trip in the Lake, take a walk on the many walking trails around the hill, go to the Tower and admire the view, eat lunch or just a good old...More

Not it's fault it's just that one of the highest view points in Denmark isn't really that high. Some reasonable views of the lake below and just a brief (5 minute) stroll from the car park to the viewing point.

As most Danes already know the place, I (Dane myself) will write this in English. The name means Skymountain. In fact it is not really a mountain, but a hill. Nevertheless the view over lakes and forests is worth going for. There are two ways...More

It was the biggest mountain/hill in Denmark for decades, now the second largest or something like that. Nice surroundings, great view of the lakes near Silkeborg and the country side. I would reccomend stopping there, nice place. You definitely feel like a tourist though, if...More

We approached Himmerbjerget by boat from Silkeborg. This is probably the nicest and and most pictures boat trip in Denmark! Three small lakes, river and small passages along the way. The boat leaves every half an hour. But be aware that the last boat back...More

Worth the stop. The kids enjoyed, but it's s bit small. Very nice view from the top. Don't expect a rigorous climb to the top, it's a hill.

This attraction was included on our tour, only regret we didn't have a picnic lunch . Perfect spot for a picnic. Very laid back rural scenic overlook. Some food available, but a quick walk up to the tower is main event.

Best in a sunny summer day, this lovely place is worth the visit. Beatiful views even if you don't come up to the tower.

If you are tourist in Denmark you have to visit the "Heaven-mountain". You can go to Silkeborg and sail with "Hjejlen" all the way to Himmelbjerget - and then walk to the top.

Sailing from the "harbour" at Silkeborg to "Himmelbjerget" (or "Sky Mountain" in English) will reveal to you the most fantastic nature, and from the top of the "mountain" you will get a breathtaking view of the landscape! Definitely worthwhile doing - even when the sun...More
