Unfortunately the fall is under construction until 2019, so we didn't see the show. But the park near it is gorgeous. We were there with 4 years old and with a baby. With a stroller it's possible to walk only at the park, that is...More

Very beautiful scenery. I wish that the rapids were working but they aren't anymore. Only when some shows are made the water runs but not this year as there is some renovations being made.

This time there was also water that was joyful. During the previous visit, the locks were closed and the river was dry. Beautiful place.

For some reason I thought the water would be clear/blue, but it is not. Majestic site anyway, with walking paths and viewing spots along waterside. Sound of water is amazing and air is fresh by the water.

Imatra Rapids was our main reason to visit Imatra. There are construction works and water flow is closed except Saturdays. As we were on a weekday we missed rapids.

we saw the very last "running of water" in Imatra rapids in August 2016. The dam is being reconstructed for 2 years, so no water in the river for 2 years.

Unfortunately we did not experience the waterfall in action this time. The place is still worth visiting.

Imatra waterfall or rapids is absolutely worth of seeing, when ever the open (partially) the gates once a week. It gives us an understanding of the raw power of the water and at the same time such a beautiful view. Recommended!
