Now when many other facilities has been added & enlarged & improved, also this traditional Aviation Museum has been come closer to Airport of Helsinki-Vantaa. Airport itself is located at Vantaa (neighbor of Helsinki), because City of Helsinki do not want or have not enough place for such a function. Actually they are just closing down the historical Malmi Airport... More

This hidden museum was great surprise. I had no high expectations and got really surprised of their selection of the airplanes and information available in the museum. Could be bit more interactive (hope they consider that on next renovation). It is nice place to go around and see the planes. Old passenger plane with access to the cabin is great... More

An excellent day out for amateurs and enthusiasts. The Finnish Aviation Museum is nor particularly big but very high quality. It appeals to the enthusiast because of the collection of unusual aircraft with historical connections to Finland. The star of the collection is an immaculate Messerschmidt 109 G, which is worth the whole trip. Good for small and big kids... More

The museum has a large selection of military and civil finish aviation exhibits. Aviation is one of my interests so I was in my element during the visit. As well as the exhibits there is a gift shop, cafe and toilet facilities. It is accessible for people with dissabilities. The entrance fee was 10 Euros which I thought was good... More

The ride to the museum from Helsinki Central station was a quick half hour but the map was confusing and it appeared that you needed to turn right to reach the museum but the opposite was true and the facility is almost adjacent to the Aviapolis station to the left. You can see the silver DC-3 parked in front as... More

I missed a flight home so had some time to visit the Aviation museum at Vantaa. Spent a good few hours there and was thoroughly impressed. Foreign visitors especially British should get in there, learn something about Finnish history, their heroism and victories against overwhelming odds!

Very nice collection of planes, compact and nice destination with kids. Be aware that the hall in not heated, keep your coates on. The have nice shop and cafe, serving also buffe lunch ( very much finnish home food style). Take the train to "aviapolis" and its just next to it. We live near by and visit yearly with kids.

If you are a neighborhood of the Helsinki AirPort and you would like to see and learn a thing or two of aviation, this is a great place to visit. They have pretty good lunch buffet as well.

Plenty of interesting and some unique exhibits. A very good overview of Finnish civil aviation, although present also several military aircraft. Walk through the Convair 440 cabin, great. Several original Finnair simulators and trainers incl. Caravelle, F27 and DC-9. Absolutely worth the visit, walking distance from closest train station.
