You have to use your imagination when you go to visit the Viking Burial Site. We were told that the gaves go back to 400 but, they are not defined since they did things differently then. There are mounds of rocks around so you have...More

Great little walk. Some climbing and good views. Some walking along the beautiful salmon river. Burial mounds were understandably just rocky mounds so don't expect more. 😁

The actual burial site is just a pile of stones but the walk to it is well worth doing. From Eidfjord we passed the petrol station with a red sign, took the footbridge over the river then turned right onto a narrow tarmac road which...More

We got lucky the weather was in the 70s . Stunning location calm fjord towering mountains covered with snow haha it was roasting. We loved the walk along the raging river to the Eidfjord easy flat walking. From the fjord there is a bit of...More

I saw these from the Trolltrain and only 2 were visible, apparantly there are more. You can walk to this site from Eidfjord. The graves are a pile of large boulders with what looks like a ring of boulders around that. They are not marked...More

Best approach is via a footbridge next to the petrol station. This gives you a nice walk alongside the river and a fairly gentle walk up through the woods to the plateau which is home to several families. The graves themselves have no information. They...More
